APP Writing 100 will build upon ideas introduced in Level 3, continuing to develop students’ ability to compose essays, both in-class and out, and make sound arguments, especially in response to academic texts read by the students. Particular focus is placed on developing the students’ ability to write in a way that shows their ability to identify, assess, evaluate, and analyze issues. By the end of this course students will have the necessary tools to succeed at the university level, as this is not only a course focused on essay writing, but also includes argumentation and essay writing, which can be applied to many academic disciplines. The students will also be able to recognize and accurately use 50 new COCA AVL (Corpus of Contemporary American English Academic Vocabulary List) vocabulary items
