This course examines the formation, structure, functions, and aims of international organizations and their place in contemporary global governance. It traces their historical development and explains why states and non-state actors work through institutional frameworks to tackle problems that no single state can solve alone. The United Nations receives special attention; its organs, decision-making processes, and influence on peace and security. The course also surveys regional organizations (for example, the European Union and the League of Arab States) and explores how international and regional bodies shape political and economic outcomes worldwide.
