HSCI 201 is an integrated lecture/laboratory-based introductory course designed for students who are majoring in medical laboratory sciences. This course covers a broad range of basic clinical laboratory techniques and methods and provides the students with a practical idea about their future profession in a clinical laboratory. Students will learn the principles of basic laboratory diagnostic techniques and procedures, identify numerous instruments and operate them, understand safety regulations and policies, and gain knowledge on quality assessment. This course is a starting gateway through which students will be prepared for future specialized medical courses and their clinical rotations in their final year.
